Council of Amherst College Student-Athletes of Color

CACSAC brings together student athletes of colors to help create a network between athletes with shared experiences. During our meetings we have open and honest conversations about diversity and inclusion among our respective teams, and discuss ways in which we can improve matters of diversity and inclusion within the athletic department and also campus in general. Different members of the e-board meet with members of the athletic department and also members of the administration in order to keep open lines of communication where we can voice our concerns and opinions on matters that affect our community. The E-Board acts as the intermediary between the athletic department/administration and CACSAC itself. CACSAC acts not only as a space where athletes can discuss issues of diversity and inclusion but also other issues/conflict they may be dealing with. We meet once a week and are focusing on building unity within the Amherst Student Community this year and working with the Amherst administration.
