In their own words

The mission of CISE is to create space for international students to engage with Amherst College and with each other in fun, intersectional, and holistic ways. Working in collaboration with other resource centers and campus partners, CISE aims to guide students as they learn about and question themselves, their environments, and how these interact in local and global contexts. In supporting international students, CISE also assists in the navigation of immigration regulations related to study in the US, and ensures the proper maintenance of students’ immigration records. On a campus community scale, CISE works to anchor global realities more deeply throughout the college by seeking opportunities to engage all members—students, staff, and faculty—in internationalizing and decolonizing campus spaces.
