Newman Catholic Student Association

Secular life on campus is hard! And a brilliant burning faith will not just come to us sitting in Val! Christians must come together because without our shepherd, we will disperse. The Newman Catholic Student Association provides Catholic Mass at 5 pm in Chapin Chapel every Sunday with the help of Amherst's RSL team. Students in the organization, whether listed or not, may attend Mass as they see fit. The E-board is a group of members who set up and clean up Mass, meet with other Faith organization leaders on campus, and send updates and notices to the rest of the Mass-goers. Coming together in our ancient Faith, we will grow with one another in holiness liturgically through the Holy Mass*, Eucharistic Adoration (@UMass), and the Divine Office, scripturally through Bible Studies, and socially through Men's and Women's nights (@UMass). Dances, retreats, and national conferences are all also available to the club through the Newman center up at UMass. We learn from our Fathers in faith that "the Glory of God is man fully alive". Receive the gift of faith! Turn to God and allow what Jesus has made possible to be come actual in us through the Holy Spirit. Anyone and everyone is welcome and absolutely nothing disqualifies anyone from being with us. *Holy Mass is offered on campus, 5 pm in Chapin Hall, and is served by Priests of the Diocese of Springfield. E-board leaders work with RSL chaplains to confirm Priest scheduling and supplies for the Mass or events hosted by the organization.
