Debate Society

The Amherst Debate Society (ADS) is Amherst Colllege's only competitive intercollegiate debate team. We compete in the American Parliamentary style of debate as a member of the American Parliamentary Debate Association (APDA) and in the British Parliamentary style as a member of the US Universities Debating Association (USUDA). In addition to being a top-ranked intercollegiate debating team, the Amherst Debate Society is also a tight-knit, supportive, and inclusive community. Use our Linktree below to view our tournament schedule and follow our Instagram! Practices are held two times a week, with no prior debate experience required. There are weekly tournaments available to attend, with all registration fees and travel expenses paid for by Amherst. More information about American Parliamentary (APDA) can be found here: https://apda.online/for-novices/ Practices are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 to 7:30 pm in Chapin Hall 101 Linktree: https://linktr.ee/amherstdebate?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAR3XF3kdXrvqJBpkHW9MRXJvMAAgq77ENHargcI25pKQZ1Egdi7aF7oLLmM_aem_3CmGInLCI53kY_Jrl-jilA
