In their own words
I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel saying,Lord, they have killed thy prophets, and digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life. But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal. Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace. Romans 11:1-5
Vision
Remnant seeks to increase the number of individuals who practice and are involved in the various black Christian religious traditions. Remnant desires to be wholly representative of the African/Black Diaspora and thus aims to reach blacks, African-Americans, Caribbean students, Afro-Latino students, and more. Remnant seeks to create a solidified a group that individuals can use as a source of spiritual growth as well as fellowship. The group is open to all students, regardless of sex, sexual orientation, religious orientation, or race.
Mission Statement:
Through bible studies, prayer meetings, worship sessions, fellowship, concerts and religious services, Remnant aims to find, nurture, and provide spiritual guidance as well as support to the remnant on campus. By mirroring our activities off of the black church and intervarsity’s Black Campus Ministries, we strive to create an atmosphere that particularly reaches out to students of color, but is open to all students regardless of race, gender, and sexual orientation.
